The opposition politicians are
just as guilty as the Tories, too, in
spite of all the hot air they have
released. Didn't they cheer as the
bills were being run up that have
landed us into bankruptcy? Cer-
tainly. Just like a bunch of drunks
out on the town.

An especially Unhappy New
Year, too, to Pat Carney and the
other members of the Gang of
Eight who went to the Senate to
bdleat ‘‘Yes”’ in return for
senator’s pay. May their hair fall
out.

There are many other things to
prolong your hangover, chief of
whick is that the ill-gotten gains
from the GST will be wasted. Joe
Clark will go on throwing away
billions in foreign aid, for in-
stance, because he likes getting a
big hand in Zimbabwe and Zam-
bia, etc.

Oddballs will still get federal
grants; hundreds of millions will
still be tossed at phoney refugees;
money will go to countries like
Haiti to ‘‘help in elections’;
billions will be sent down the bi-
lingual drain; the politicians will
continue to get bloated pensions.
There will be no limit to the brib-
ing of Quebec. The trough stret-
ches into infinity.

And just watch the inflation
rate soar.

Here’s an example of what is
happening locally.

The West Van Seniors’ Centre
will be collecting GST on all regis-
tered programs, special events,
lunches, drop-in programs, coffee
bar items, dances and fundraising
events,

In short, there will be no escape
for anyone except your fat-cat
MPs who, having no shame, will
vote themselves still more money.

Did | mention the bribing of
Quebec? Here’s another reason to
wish Mulroney & Co. an Unhappy
New Year: the Treasury Board has
approved an $89 million expen-
diture on a new National Archives
Building.

Where will it be? In Gatineau.
Where else?

Perhaps we can have it back
when Quebec separates.

The system is similar for politi-
cians in the U.S.R.R.

A clinic official told the NCC:
“These are very busy people.””

True. They're busy ruining the
