Concentrating on wood- cuts for several years, Keen has succeeded i making the wood itself her tool. Using the grain and even the knotholes she creates fluid and romantic images from landscape and portraiture. The multi-color prints show this artist to have a bold confidence in her carv- ing. balanced by a. delicate craftsmanship in her color printing. / After several years at U.B.C., Keen attended the University of Victoria where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She has continued her studies at the Emily ‘Carr College of Art. and Design while working in a commercial art studio. In. 2983 Keen had a one person show at the Greensleeve Gallery in White Rock and exhibited in a res- taurant in White Rock. Her print ‘Childrén of the Earth’ was accepted in the B.C. Festival of the Arts in 1984 and she was invited to dem- onstrate her technique at the festival in Penticton. The artist has also exhib- ited at the Whistler Fall Fes- tival, the Coho.
