Tony Carr’s Brentwood High School have dominated youth rowing for many years and he continues to produce fast crews. At last year’s Canadian Schoolboy Rowing Association Championship in St. Catherines, Ontario, his crews won the Senior heavy 8-plus, the lightweight 8-plus, and the junior heavy 8-plus. That junior crew of 1982 makes up most of his senior 8-plus for this year. It is rumored that they are so good, they will represent Canada at the World Youth Championships in Europe this summer. They will also attend The Royal Henley Regatta and other European regattas. Joe Grey's Shawnigan Lake High School crews are frquently close to Brent- wood'’s but have not upset them at the B.C. Other Provincial youths who are from the Victoria High Schools and Greater Vancouver area high schools, will represent the various rowing clubs they belong to. There will be a strong contingent of Americans attending the B.C. Rowing Championships, coming mostly from the Green Lake Rowing Association in the Seattle area.
