Students who are in-
terested in applying for
student loans and bursaries
for the fall term should start
doing it right away, warns
Capilano College - Financial
Aid Officer Connie Gibbs,
or they may be facing long
delays in receiving their
money.

“We're getting many
inquiries from = students
already,” said Gibbs,
“because they're worried
about not getting jobs that
pay enough this summer, or
not getting part-time jobs
this fall.” Last year the
number of students applying
for student loans at the
college increased 15%, the
number applying bursaries
40%, and those applying for
emergency loans, 21%, and
Gibbs is expecting another
substantial increase this
year.
