Even the coaches take
courses. ‘When’ Jim’ Easton’s
soccer ‘school ‘wound. up last
summer, - both. Easton;: ‘the
former Vancouver Whitecap
coach,’ plus ‘the - “many
youngsters. who were - in-
volved in the intensive
program. .were. eagerly
looking forward to the next
year's addition.

“Except Easton wasn't
totally satisfied. The former
Hibernian and Dundée
player who came to the
Whitecaps for their first two
seasons headed over to
Britain and spent a couple of .
weeks working with
Leicester City honing up on
the finer points of the game.

sessions take place. in the

of the summer.

Easton does not work on
the basics of the game. He
expects the young ‘players
who attend the school will

The emphasis of the 16 hours
of instruction is based on
creating the thinking and
skill to work as a team._,

All classes will be held at
Carson Graham field and
each session will run from
Monday: to Friday ‘starting
July 16 for a five day session.

Following the completion
of his first soccer school last

“repeaters” are expected,
youngsters who have
mastered the basi¢ skills are
advised to register early if
they want a spot in the
school.

available at Skyline Sports in
North Vancouver.

This year’s course will cost
$35 with each participant
receiving a T-shirt, ball, sew-
on patch plus a discount on
‘sporting goods.
