Renegades best in province NORTH Van’s — Darcy Kosterewa was a defensive standout as the White Rock Renegades (1980) defeated their 1981 counterparts in the Bantam Girls ‘A’ fastpitch softball provincial champi- onships. The Renegades went ainbeaten throughout the three-day, 15-team tourna- ment. In the championship final, Kim White batied in the win- ning run, as the 1980 team went on to a 7-0 victory. Also contributing at the plate in the final was Jean Hunt, who hit a home run and a triple to help pace the team. With the win, the 1980 Renegades add another provincial championship to their PeeWee A and Bantam ‘A crowns. The team represented B.C. at the Western Canadian Bantam Softball Championships in Alberta last weekend (scores unavailable to press time).
