The Race Course: Racers from previous years will be familiar with the course; from the start line, extending from Dundarave Pier to the Committee Boat. to a marker (leave to port} set 4% mile WSW off Point Atkinson Lighthouse; to the Point Grey Bell Buoy (leave to port); to a marker set 0.7 miles south of the center channel marker (leave to starboard); to the finish line off Kitsilano Yacht Club (sail between the finish marker and the Committee Boat), The Start and Finish: The Committee Boat will conduct the start at 10:00 a.m. All entrants must sail close by the Committee Boat and identify themselves well prior to-the start. After crossing the finish line, please sail close by the Committee Boat to once again clearly identify your vessel. The race ends officially at 3:00 p.m. Any boats not across {or anywhere near) the finish line at that time should start engines and proceed directly to Granville Island Market for moorage. The Ceremonies: Will begin at approximately 3:30 p.m. in the auditorium Just next to the Sea Wing Sailing Schoo! at 1818 Maritime Mews. Signs and banners will clearly identify the location of the Cerernony. Refreshments will be available and there will be enizrtainment for children and adults. All awards will be presented at these ceremonies. In the special award categories, all prizes will be presented. In case of a winning skipper not attending. an alternate winner will be chosen. The Youngsters’ Award: To encourage full family participation in the real fun aspect of this event, a new brass plaque will be awarded this year for the Best Oressed Junior Pirate. This family event is open to all crusing sailboats, regardless of club membership or affiliation. Spinnakers and bloopers are not permitted.
