amounts to $1,272,690,
aldermen John Lakes and
Joan Gadsby both said the
reduction wasn’t enough and
should have been greater.

Total budget cutback for
the Rec Centre amounted to
$119,110.

by Mr. Buck «in February
1963 and over the next two
decades he built it into one
of the most consistently
business

Market surveys conducted

by The News indicated that
more people, by a _ large
percentage, were aware of
Dave Buck Ford than of any
other local dealership.
Born in Winnipeg, Mr.
Buck came to the Van-
couver area as a child and
spent much of his life on the
North Shore. A_ widely
respected figure in_ the
community, he became well
known to thousands through
his highly personal TV
advertising.

The business will continue
under the management of his
son, Ross Buck. His other
son, Larry, presently
studying in Denmark, may
be returning to assist.

In addition to his two sons,
Mr. Buck is survived by his

loses battle
with cancer

March 20, in Lions Gate Hospital with his family
at his side after a two-year battle with cancer. He

Church, 1525 Taylor Way,
West Vancouver, conducted
by Rev. Ron Smith.

The eulogy will be
delivered by Brice Mac-
dougall, a close friend of Mr.
Buck.

The family has requested
donations to the Canadian

Cancer Society in lieu of |

flowers. They have also
expressed special thanks to
Dr. Paul Klimo for his care
and understanding.
