Free entertain- ment was provided by firefighters from all three North Shore fire departments. The hose drifi contest required the teams to race once around the sports track with hose reel wagons dating back to the time of the incorporation of North Van City, and hook up to their water supply. Contest was won by the North Van District team, which hosed down the com- petition from the City while the West Van team straggied to go on tap.
