experience in the art of pubmanship to back their

claim. But it remains a moot point whether their

saying will apply in quite the same way to B.C.’s"
new “‘neighborhood pubs’”’

-- which are very much

in the news at the moment on the North. Shore.

Last week North Vancou-
ver District finally accepted
the principle of neighbor-
hood pubs and will soon be

’ looking over an application

by a local resident.to open
one in the Capilano Road - -
Woods Drive area.

In Horseshoe Bay -- always
an avant-garde community in
matters convivial -- a local
version of **The Old Bull and
Bush’’ is already going
ahead with council blessing.

Meanwhile, West. Vancou-

ver is currently conducting a | =

survey to find out whether
the good citizens of Amble-
side want a pub in the area of

14th and Marine ---and, if so,

which of five competing
applicants they prefer.

the decent hour of 11 p.m. So
far, so good.
