REA Renovation spending on rise RENOVATION SPEND- ING is projected to increase 3.5% in 1994, according to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp.'s (CMHC) National. Renovation Mar- kets report. Renovation spending — is expected ‘to reach $17.5 billion in 1994, up from $16.8 billion projected for this year. “Projected increases in renovation market because many intprovement projects are done shortly before, or immediately after a house is sold,’* he added. Regionally, B.C. will have the highest increase in renovation and repair spending this year, up 51% to $2.2 billion, and a 4.5% increase next year to $2.3 billion.
