fans have packed away
their drums for another
lacrosse season.

Victoria Shamrocks beat
the Indians 11-8 in overtime
Monday night at Lonsdale
Arena to win the best-of-seven
Western Lacrosse Association
semi-final 4 games to 2.

The Senior A Indians were
just 36 seconds away from
forcing a seventh and deciding
game when Victoria’s Bruce
Alexander beat Indians’ goalie
Dwight Mactche to tie the
game 7-7.

The Indians had taken a 7-
6 lead with 5:29 to play on a
spectacular diving goal by
Share Wannamaker.

North Shore 3-1 to advance to
the WLA final against che
Coquitlam Adanacs.

“We had momentum, we
just got a little light on
defence,” Indians coach Fred
Nomp said following the
game. “You can’t take anv-

arguably the best lacrosse play-

“We got smart a little later
in the series after we had some
problems with Gait,” Klomp
said. “After two or three
games we finally put Spen on
him.” The coach added he had
never scen a player so commit-
ted and focused on covering
Gait.

Thanks to Spenrath’s
super-human effort on Gait,
the Shamrock sniper managed
only one goal and nwo assists.
For nis part, Spenrath had four
assists.
