Vancouver woman was
ordered to pay
$14,606 restitution
last month for ripping
off income-assistance
money from the
provincial government.

Susan Elizabeth Tompkins
pleaded guilty to defrauding
the = Ministry of Human
Resources berween fonuary
1993 and December 1996.

According to the North
Vancouver RCMP, Tompkins
was employed at Uniglobe
Travel when she enderreport-
ed her income to the ministry
every month and received
G.A.ILN (Guaranteed
Available Income for Need)
money.

North Vancouver provin-
cial court Judge Doug Moss
sentenced Tompkins to a four
month conditional sentence
and 18 months’ probation on
Dec. 10.
