NORTH VANCOUVER City is getting
tough on deadbeat parking offenders.

Councillors recently voted 4-2 in favor of rais-
ing the late payment schedule of fines or parking
tickets.

While the initial fines will remain tie same,
payments not made within 10 days will increase
by $5 and payments made after a summons has

-- been issued will increase by $10.
The new fees are effective in March. As a
result, a basic $15 parking ticket fine not paid

on this topic during 1996. By then,
the Department should have had

statistics.

The new question will also ask
what steps the Department is

taking to persuade Hong Kong and
Taiwan to negotiate tax ‘treaties
with Canada, and what specific
“indirect methods" are being used

fo find those who are failing to §
report their foreign income. In a |

whatever answer | receive.
