By Lara Williams Contributing Writer Incorporated in January 1989, the North Shore Youth Art Works Society is a non-profit charitable organization designed for youth interested in artwork. poetry, theatre and social issues. The society is entirely organized by young peaple between the ages of 15 and 24 and has been active- ly involved with various art workshops and public presentat- ions over the summer. lc offers a venue for weekly workshops, musical events and film screenings. The society also provides vouth with a myriad of opportunities 10 become involved in its operation and to display their artwork to the public.
