Volunteers recognized

Thank you for your continued
support and coverage of communi-
ty events. Unfortunately, the in-
formation under the picture cap-
tioned ‘*Many Thanks’’ on page 43
of Wednesday, Nov. 9 issue did
not identify the volunteers as part

of the North Shore Health
Department's Continued Care
Volunteer Program.

These dedicated volunteers —
some 125 people — assist the
elderly and chronically il! residents
of the North Shore in their own
homes with grocery shopping,

Window display’s
message questioned

I am a senior student at
Sutherland Secondary School and I
work part time.

returning home from work when I
noticed something which | feel is
sending a disturbing message to
our society. What I saw was a
window display in an automotive
showroom on Marine Drive. It was
a jeep covered with at least 14
Moosehead beer cases.

They were using the jeep to
display this alcohol and it was
almost as if they were promoting
drinking and driving for all the
warld to see.

How can this car dealership do
this? This is a horrible message to
send out into our community. It is
in poor taste and £ fee! something
should be done immediately to
change it.
