spring offers freedom
for creating new looks

‘ed SPRING ‘88% is an open season
when it comes to stylish dressing,
says designer Tom D'Auria.
Enjoying the liberty such
freedom offers, this season
features a collection involving a
fusion of ideas, colors and tex-
tures, The dress is a single clement
with the capacity to convey style in
a number of very different and ex-
ciling ways, he says.
Thus, there are young women,
trim, long-legged young women,
who will don perky gingham
dresses with their short full skirts,
nipped waists, their trim bodices,
cropped tops and Peter Pan col-
lars.
There are also women who will
gladly embrace the feminine swirl
sundresses with their right wrapped
bodices, their bowed backs, their
low cut decolletage.
These are all dresses open to in-
terpretation: some may choose to
wear them with white socks and
Maryjanes, other with sheer stock-
ings and Louis-heeled pumps.
Regardiess of accessory, not much
will dampen their inate sense of
spirit.
For those women of a more
sophisticated persuasion, there are
teadresses: modern  teadresses,
designed for the woman who
perhaps works more than she
drinks tea, but who nevertheless
desires the soft clegance such
dressing denotes. : '
