Alderman thanks supporters

Dear Editor:

1 would like to take this opportunity to express my
appreciation to the citizens of the City of North Van-
couver who supported me in the Nov. 21 civic elec-
tions.

{ am even more appreciative of your support
because it enabled me to top the polls once again and
remain on council for another three years to serve as
your alderman.

My role and responsibility as an alderman is to
serve every and any resident of the city to the best of
my ability, even though we may not basically agree
with one another. To this end, I am always available
to listen and discuss with you your concerns and,

hopefully through this contact, I might be able to
assist you in some way.

1 would personally like to express my gratitude to
over 40 friends and neighbors who helped me carry
out my campaign. To those who worked and sup-
ported me behind the scenes, a sincere thank you.

Thanks also to the 10 youths who got involved and
assisted me in a big way.

Last, but not least, | would like to say that without
the support and encouragement of my entire family, |
probably would not be representing the citizens of the
City of North Vancouver.

West Van sentors housing needed

Dear Editor:

I attended the public hearing on
the seniors housing in West Van-
couver.

One of the speakers accused the
council of considering the applica-
tion to rezone because:

e A church was requesting it.

e It was for seniors housing. vide

This is just the point. Many ap-
plications to rezone are to enrich
an individual. In this case it is to
enrich the community.

It is requested by a non-profit

altruistic group that wishes to pro-
much needed fow-income
seniors housing, a group that is
providing a service to the citizens.
