Delmaestro also said that about half way through their ordeal, a number of those in the elevator gave their names and telephone numbers to security staff so parents could be notified that they were all right. *‘No phone calls were made,’’ Dalmaestro said. The 24 were finally freed from the elevator two and a half hours after they had got in.
