Abuse
study
funded

EIGHTEEN SURVIVORS of
sexual abuse will participate
in a study that will explore
and document their healing
experiences, North Vancou-
ver-Lonsdale MLA David
Schreck announced Oct. 26.

The study will be funded
by a $15,000 Ministry of
Women's Equality grant to
Family Services of the North
Shore.

In announcing the grant on
behalf of the Minister of
Women's Equality Penny
Priddy, Schreck said Family
Services will work with the
UBC School of Social Work
in a 30-week study to occur
during the women's coun-
selling period.

The grant was one of 54
announced to fund a wide
variety of women’s initiatives.
The grants, totalling $436,179,
support women in B.C.
