By Anna Marie D'Angelo News Reporter Port Day will be held on Sun- day, May 16 from 10 a.m, to 4 p.m. at three sites including Waterfront Park, located in the 200-block of West Esplanade in North Vancouver. “The open house is a chance for our shareholders, the general public, to come down to the waterfront to Canada’s largest port,"' said Port Day organizer Joy Gornall. The annual open house will in- clude free 40-minute tours of the port on one of two vessels: The Spirit of Vancouver and The Con- stitution, a paddlewheeler. Tickets for the tours will be given out, at Waterfront Park, on a first come, first-served basis at 9:30 a.m. for morning trips and at noon for afternoon trips. The multicultural theme is being emphasized in the continuous entertainment and food during the day. Entertainers include the Metropolitian Pops Band, Hugo Guzman Trio, Soul Survivors and Vancouver Morris Men. Other North Shore Port Day events include an open house at the Pacific Marine Training In- The Pacific Marine Training Institute will be holding an open house (in conjunction with Port Day) from 10am-4pm, Sunday, May 16 at Waterfront Park. We invite everyone to attend stitute, 265 West Esplanade and a model train display in the BC Rail Building 221 West Esplanade. Exhibits will be on display at Waterfront Park and at the Pacific Marine Training Institute. As well, there will be demonstrations by North Shore Rescue, Cates Towing, Burrard Clean, and the Sea Cadets and Navy League Cadets of the Lower Mainland. Two fireboats, operated by the North Vancouver City and North Vancouver District fire depart- ments, will be moored and exhib- ited near Waterfront Park. The heritage tug S.S.
