The immediate past president of the B.C. & Yukon Hotels Association, Jack Swoboda of North Vancouver, has left his general manager’s position at the Sheraton Landmark. Jack’s been GM with the Sheraton chain for more than 14 years. Previously he was at the Westin Bayshore and at the Holi- day Inn Harbourside. Apparently, after 14 years, Jack felt that it was time to move on. [t was a reasonably amicable separation between Jack and Sheraton’s executive vice-presi- dent of operations for the three Sheraton Hotels, Mark LaQuarrie. They are now in the process of restructuring the Landmark execu- tive team with Mr. LaQuarrie becoming the new general manag- er as well as retaining his VP operations status... While Jack Swoboda may be at liberty at this moment, former dimpled model, fashion commen- tator and Socred political mover and shaker in the late Jack Davis’ office, Roberta Kelly, has a new job. Roberta has just been appointed as the first-ever special events coordinator for the Vancouver Opera Association.
