But the other night we got a bit more, BCTV was covering a meeting of which Sikhs were complaining about the media. it was all the fault of the media, they said, that people thought Sikhs were prone to violence. Why, there was no More peace-loving commmuni- ty on the face of the earth. That wasn’t what was s1i- prising, of course. We are get- ting used to up being down, in being out, and freedom-of- speech lovers braying for cen- sorship. No, what was surpris- ing was that the item was followed with clips showing how local Sikhs and other East Indians have been doing their best to work damage on-one another's torsos with two-by- fours, baseball bats, swords and other instruments of affection. It was a real theatre of brotherly love, India-style. The kind of thing every neighborhood will have if our dolts of politicians continue their present immigration course. The plain truth (from which politicians. and press flee in -flain terror), is that of all the immigrant communities, the Sikhs community is the most violent. Here are a few things that have taken place in the fast three years, ‘““When the shooting stops four people lie seriously wounded including a policeman’’ March 18, 1982: two men are shot and killed in a Toron- to courtroom and a third maimed. But our bleeding hearts are not fazed. In Toronto, the human rights maniacs and loony churchmen shed tears and say yes, the media are to blame for pum- ping up this stuff. Editorialists wring their hands, No one sug- gests that we stop importing troublemakers, Thirty-five years ago, old Mackenzie King said he wanted to preserve Canada's existing population make-up.
