CITY COUNCIL ASKING QUESTIONS

Pegasus wants to build covered stadium

Club wants to convert
Norseman Park into a
regulation-size soccer
field with 2000 covered
seats.

The club unveiled its plans
and a scale model of the
changes at a meeting of
North Vancouver City
council recently. The plans
call for the club to spend
$250,000 to $350,000 over
the next five years on the
conversion - if the City
council, which owns the
property on 23rd Street,
gives its approval and all the
legal and technical hurdles
are Cleared.

Pegasus President Peter
Scott told council the club
would apply to Lotto Canada
for a grant, which would
take care of most of the
money needed. Other funds
could be raised over the five
years by various means --
such as selling bricks for the
stands at $100 a brick, with
the buyer’s name to be et-
ched onto the brick.
