fight ends
with ruling

NORTH Vancouver
lawyer Donald Jabour
has lost his four-year

fight against the B.C.
Law Society over his
right to advertise.

But even now he must wait
to find out just how dearly he
must pay for having
questioned the law society's
jurisidiction.

Already though, Jabour
thinks the decision by the
Supreme Court of Canada,
announced Monday, may be
the finish of his North Shore
Neighborhood Legal Clinic.

Jabour was the Canadian
pioneer of the revolutinary
idea of legal clinics, a U.S.
concept where — straight-
forward legal services are
offered at set fees intended
to be affordable to middle-
