A registered lien does not
guarantee that the contractor
is going to collect his money.
If there is still a dispute bet-
ween the owners, contractor,
subcontractor or workmen,
then a court action may be
necessary. This court action
must begin within one year of
the filing of the lien.

as soon as possible because a
property cannot be sold when
it is subject to a lien. A lien
may be cancelled in any one
of these four ways:

1. The lien can be paid by the
owner.

2- The contractor or other
creditors may cancel the

begun and one year has
passed since the filing of
the len, it no longer is
effective.

4.if a court action relating
to the dispute has been
dismissed, the hen is no
longer effective.
