Racing Team, qualified for the
17th spot in the first race of a
season-opening, weekend dou-
bleheader. He battled a stick-
ing throttle for much of the
race and ended up 12th.
Rutledge’s teammate Mike
Conte of Seattle was in the
15th spot but finished eighth.

On Sunday, Rutledge start-
ed 16th but finished fifth.
Conte was nin.

Dan Wheldon — won
Saturday’s race over Buddy
Rice. Rice, however, edged
Wheldon on Sunday.

Rutledge is in sixth place
overall with 11 points after the
first two races, The season
resanes April 15 in Long
Beach, Calif.

The two Miami races will
be telecast by CTV SportsNet
April 10 at p.m. and April 17
