Deconstructing Casablanca

The original casting for the Warner Bros.
preduction of Casablanca was to include
Ronald Reagan, Dennis Morgan and Ann
Sheridan. The film had a brief run in 1942,
and then was rereleased in 1943 to capitalize
on the Churchill-Roosevelt semmit held in
Casablanca. It won several Acaderny awards
including best picture.

The Casablanca/Bogust cult. began in the
early 60s at the Brattle Theatre in
Cambridge, Massachusctrs.

HERODOTUS on the Giza Platenu: Girector Anthony Minghella looks on as
Kristin Scott Thomas leaves The English Patient set. The. movie, shot in the
Sahara Desert in 1995, was released on video last month.
