Y WEST Vancouver resident Joshua Ho has been named a presidential scholar research assistant at Dartmouth College. Ho, the son of Robert and Christine Ho, is a senior at the Nova Scotia college. He is working with Dartmouth pro- fessor Thomas Ciardelli, on a research Project entitled Analysis of the Interteukin-2 Receptor Interactions by Surface Plasmon Resonance. The Presidential Scholars program was established in 1987 to encourage intellectual and artistic excellence among Dartmouth undergraduates. A research assistant program was introduced in 1989 for juniors with a grade-point-average of 3.6 or higher. These research positions last two aca- demic terms and involve working one- s West Van student shines on-one with a faculty member on a pro- ject of murual interest. The aim of the program is to introduce studerts to other challenges of research while providing apprenticeship training useful in the writ- ing of a senior honors thesis.
