The LensPen was chosen by the Electronic Industries Association in conjunction with the Industrial Designers Society of America for its inventive design and engineer- ing in the audio/video category. The LensPen will be displayed at the Design and Enginecring Exhibit at the 1994 International Summer Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Chicago, June 23- 25. The product is marketed by Vancouver's Parkside Ventures, which identifies, develops, finances and markets innovative consumer products for internation- al distribution. FBDB offers help to small business The Federal Business Development Bank (FBDB) has announced a $50 million small business financing program called Working Capital for Growth. The new program will provide _working capital loans to small and_ medium-sized businesses that have identified new opportunities for growth or expansion. The program will provide working capital loans when conventional sources of short-term financing are unable to offer sufficient levels of funding to support growth. FBDB’s loan will “top up” financing from conven- tional lenders. The maximum !oan amount will be $100,000; the repayment schedule is flexible, with maximum amortization seven years, FBDB will borrow the $50 mil- lion for the program on capital markets and will be repaid in the same way the bank finances its regular lending operations.
