automotive-repair shop, the
student receives yearly school-

four years.

After satisfactory completion
of the four-year program, an
apprentice writes an inter-
provincial or “‘IP’’ exam.
(Seventy per cent is a pass.)

In addition to the !?, appren-
tices also write a recently in-
troduced exam which gives
them an “‘AirCare ticket.’

Dental Hygienists
First-year university including

chemistry, biology, psychology
and English are required before
students are accepted into a
dental-hygiene program. The

_program takes two years and

10 months to complete and it is

- offered at Vancouver Com-

munity College, Camousin Col-
lege in Victoria and College of
New Caledonia in Prince
George.

Graduates of the program
become registered and licenc- -
ed with the College of Dental |
