2 - Friday, January 15, 1993 - North Shore News Park Royal tree-clearing upsets MLA Dalton WEST VANCOQUVER-Capilano MLA Jeremy Dalton has criticized the ownership of Park Royal Shopping Centre for clearing a-five-acre site on the mall’s property adjacent to Ambleside Park. The area, which is west of the Park Royal Twin Theatres and behind the Brunswick Lions Gate Lanes bowling alley, was cleared Dec. 26 to: make room for a state-of-the-art golf driving range ‘and pro shop. Meanwhile, Famous Players Theatres has ceased operating the Park Royal Twin Theatres. Famous Players spokesman Roger Harris said the Toronto- based company has decided to mave from West Vancouver as of Jan. 14 for financial reasons. “It’s a matter of economic viability. Amantea said the Brunswick Lions Gate Lanes bowling alley may also be upgraded. “It is not our intention to take down either the bowling alley or the theatres.
