IT LOOKED bleak in the beginn-
ing, but the North Shore Neigh-
bourhood House Blazers battled
back from a substantial deficit to
beat RayCam last week.

RayCam’s ball hockey team
came out strong, pulling ahead
early to 8-5.

Blazers sniper Kim Lambert
answered with top-notch play and
seven goals; in the third period the
locals continued to rally under the
strength of hat tricks by Richard
Read and Pau! Marchant with
goaltending from Eric Zaepernick.

The NSNH went on to win 18-
11, undefeated in the first two
league games.

“The guys are not yet passing
the ball around as well as they
can,”’ said coach George MeVittie.
‘*But we should get in form as the
season progresses.”’

In the season-opener of the
under-17 ball hockey play the
previous week, the Neighbourhood
House squac defeated rival Trout
Lake Recreation Centre in 12-7.

Although Trout Lake had a
distinct size advantage, the North
Shore crew’s passing and shooting
ability proved too much for the
opponents.
