Stringent training
requirements stressed
for pleasure boaters

Dear Editor:

While I can only sympathize
over the tragic loss of three lives
aboard the Kimberly, 1 just cannot
fathom the recent suit won by
George Kwok in B.C.'s Supreme
Court against the B.C. Ferry
Corp., and the half million dollars
awarded him, and just wonder if
justice took its proper course.
(Kwok was found to be only 30 per
cent at fault.)

A well-experienced pleasure
boater and his valuable ‘crew’ so
near to one of B.C,'’s main ferry
terminals, amidst their frequently
travelled passage route during peak
tourist season, should have been
more attentive.

Could my thoughts go off the
