Athletics Track and Field Association’s special recognition award for her age group when she recorded the fastest time ever in 200m and 400m events. The 12 year old West Vancouver athlete posted near record times in winning the 100 and 800 metre events, which she ran with her arm in a cast. W.Van star runner B.C. ATHLETICS Track and Field Association recent- ly awarded a special recogni- tion trophy to a 12-year-old West Vancouver girl for her outstanding achievements on the track during the past year. Keesha Middlemass, who muns for the Kajaks track club and is coached by Jack Harnson, clocked times in four track events which were fast enough to put her name in the B.C. all-tume top 10 record book for girls of her age, with new records in two events. The young sprinter’s time for the 100 metres was 0.2 seconds off the record, and the only time she ran the 800 metres her time was 2:24.5, the third fastest time in the top 10 record book for a girl of her age.
