General Practitioners will receive an average increase of $15,800, while a number will - receive considerably more. Specialists will receive an average annual.increase of approximately $13,700, with a number receiving much more than that amount. ° The BCMA has stated that it wishes to charge patients an extra levy for medical services over the amount being offered by the government. This extra levy would be through extra-billing by the doctors. . It is the objective of the government of British Columbia to continue to provide every B.C. citizen with the highest possible standard of health services, while providing the doctors of the province with equitable remuneration for their services.
