Christine & Co. silks and laces
can be found on padded hangers
in over 160 stores across the con-
tinent, including Holt Renfrew,
Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Good-
man and I. Magnin.

For the soft-spoken Morton, it
all started with a love of lace.

Back in the °60s, when the
Hillside grad's classmates were
collecting lovebeads and tie-dye,
Morton was scouring antique
shops and rummage sales for bits
of lace, antique buttons and bows.

After studying design at Van-
couver’s now-defunct Columbia
college, Morton began to incor-
porate these found treasures into
exquisite one-of-a-kind. pieces —
“special evening clothes ...
blouses and dresses that were all
in. silk, with lace’? — and sold
them from her home.
