Neither the distance nor the perception of Mexico's crime rate will deter those with wheels and a sense of adventure in their hearts. Just. point the car south and drive. Within two days of driving through Washington State, Oregon and Calitornia, Mexico looms. A tew miles prior to the border, Interstate 5 rakes on a surreal feel as a cold steel fenee running along cither side of the highway comes into view and doesn’t cease until the border.
