The key to updating a wardrobe without breaking the bank

of West Vancouver offers her price savvy picks for fall.

MEET Aida Alberni, 27-vear-old
president of Bedo’s Western
Canadian operations.

She is a self-confessed clorheshorse
with the largest walk-in closet in the city:
2,300 square feet. Though it’s really nor

condg) is full of Bedo,” says the Sentinel
grad who discovered the Canadian-made
line in Montreal, the birthplace of the
hip fashion house.

Bedo was founded in 1975 and cur-
rently has 15 stores in Quebec and

Ontario, Alberni liked the clothing line*s
Euro-style and affordable prices. She and
her husband kad the same thought: “If
we would shop bere, all of our friends
would, too.” Alberni figured there
would be others as well who would be
looking for style on a shoestring so she
brought the whole concept out West. At
Bedo, she says, “You can spend $200
and walk out of the store with a few
pieces.” We put her up to the challenge.

rently in the Bedu mix. That's good news
because knits are a key trend this‘ = Alberni
admits that Sedo's Knit palazzos (© nay not
go over as well in Vancouver a. they do in
Montreal but there are plenty of cther pieces
perfectly suited to the West Coast lifestyle, like
this ribbed knit polo dress in “oat" ($99),
dressed up with a chocotate/oat striped sweater.
