though, this modest house on East
Kings Road (just freshly painted)
is 2 notable heritage house in the
area.

It has the distinction of being
one of the earliest houses in North

.- toric district as of 1992,

malfunctioning septic
systems can be very harmful
to the environment.

Envircament Canada suggests
in its “What We Can Do for Our
Environment’? booklet that we
should watch for the following
signs of septic system malfunc-
tions:

household chemicals down your
toilet or drains because they wili
destroy the bacteria in your septic
system and it’s the bacteria that

Only wash small toads of laun-
dry in your washing machine and
try to avoid doing several loads on
the same day because that could
overload the system.

vehicles away from the ground
above them because they could
damage the tile bed or tank.

can clog the drain lines.

Finally, check your system an-
nually and have a reputable con-
tractor remove sludge or scum
every three to five years.
