POLICE WARN Watch out for scam THERE’S A new scam making the rounds in North Vancouver and the unwary could be taken for their wallets and the eontents of their bank account, police warn. North Vancouver RCMP have received two reports of attempts at the new con- fidence trick and are worried that others have been stung but are not yet aware of what’s happened. The first imcident was reported to RCMP in late April when a female employee of a Pemberton business found her wallet stolen and then received a telephone call from a man claiming to be a Bank of Montreal bank inspector. The ‘“‘inspector’’ told the woman the bank had found someone attempting to use her credit card, that had been in the wallet when it was stolen, and then tried to ply her for information about her automatic banking machine card. The woman refused to give out her personal code number. The man said he would have the woman's card returned to her by courier and then hung up.
