arrest early Sunday morning

The constable was injured
while breaking upa fight and
trying to arrest one of the
scrappers who did not want
to stop fighting

Shamper became involved
while he was in the area ot
the Shoppers Drug Mart
store on Marine Drive at
about 2.30 a.m. and saw two
men fighting outside the
Copa West disco.

He arrested one of the
fighters for causing a
disturbance but the man
broke away while being
taken to the police car and

escaped custody

He ran back along the
street towards Copa West.
avoiding capture with the
assistance of friends

Shortly after he was
spotted behind Copa West
and chased by the officer
into the disco. where he was
arrested apain alter a brie!
scuffle

This ume the officer
managed to get the man to
the police station, where he
was placed in a cell for the
night.

Charges of causing a
disturbance by fighting
escaping lawtul custody and
assault with intent to resist
arrest have been laid against
22-year-old Dean Jorgenson
of 13% Burnside road, West
