first of its type in Western

Canada. measures 30 fect
{nine metres) in diameter,
with its face and figures
formed by some 3,500 plants.

The plants originally came

from such widely separated
places as Prince George and .
Niagara Falls, but the Parks |
and ‘Recreation ‘Department

have since been propagating

their own and experimenting
with a wide variety . of
flowering and foliage plants
which can maintain a
