Father’s Day celebration

FUN FOR fathers and their fami-
lies is coming to Waterfront Park
on Sunday, June 21 from I] a.m.
to4 p.m.

-There will be kites for the kids,
a car show and a martial arts
demonstration. Organizers are
promising fun for everyone.

The martial arts demonstrations
will be presented by instructors
and students associated with the
programs offered through the
North Vancouver Recreation
Commission.

Demonstrations will feature
Kuag Fu, International Top

Karate, Ju Jutsu, Karate Shoto-

Ryu, Tae Kwon Do, and self-
defence techniques.

Car enthusiasts are invited to
view a display of over 50 classic
Oldsmobiles. Toronados will be

featured during the presentation,
and at | p.m. car enthusiasts can
enjoy a technica! discussion and
demonstration on how to rebuild
Toronado front-drive axles for
models °66 through ’78.

The show will take place rain or

To complete the day’s
festivities, a kite-making and fly-
ing demonstration will be offered.
Interested participants will learn
techniques for building and flying
a kite.

Members of the B.C. Kiteflyers’
Association will be at the park to
assist with a free kite-making
workshop, and to present a
display of regular and stunt kite
flying.

Organizers say people interested
in the kite activities should arrive
early as space is limited to the
first 150 people.
