Yanaki is his first solo venture, and it appears to be a winner, It is compact, clean and sober -—~ non- smoking and no alcohol served. But it is infectiously cheery and polite. Loud greetings are afforded patrons upon arrival and departure, which can be startling for those unused to hyper-politeness. And Mak knows how to whip out great plates of sushi and sashi- mi.
