‘83 auto show unveiled

A LAVISH display of automobiles
is now being featured at the Pacific
International Auto Show.

The 1988 Auto Show opened its
doors on Friday, Jan. 15 for a
ten-day run at the PNE,

The value of five feature cars
alone totals over one million
dollars. The Ferrari Testarossa, a
magnificent flaming red beauty
with mamimum speed of 177.7
mph and acceleration of from 0 to

focusing on the new RX7 convert-
ible and the new 929 luxury sedan.

The show features the all-new
Buick Regal from General Motors
with the two seater sports coupe
Reatta, the new Camaro convert-
ible, and Chevrolet and GMC
sports piskups. Ford, Chrysler,
Saab, Pornche, Volkswagen, Audi,
Honda, /icura, Lada, Skoda,
Mercedes, Jnguar, SHeceun, 'yun-
dai, Jeep Eagle, Alfa Romeo,

Suzuki, Subaru) and Volvo are J
joined by 4 newcomer in the form ¥

of Yugo, a bright little contender
from Yugoslavia.

Show hours are from 5:30 to
10:30 p.m. weckdays, from 1 to
{0:30 p.m. on Saturday, and from
1 to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Admission is §5 for adults, $3.50
for students 14 years and under, $3
for seniors, and children under six
are free.

The two magnificent show cars,
Probe V — a concept vehicle from
Ford — and the Toyota FXV-II as
seen at the Tokyo Auto Show rep-
resent over a half million dollars
between them with many millions
more spent on their devclopment.

McLaughlin Buick, and the new
BMW750iL with a list price of
over $100,000 and the total tips the
million mark.

Every leading car maker has ex-
amples of the 1988 model lincup
