breakfast cvent announcing
1988 tourism promotional
programs for the North
Shore.

“There will be representation
from all aspects of tourism to cx-
plain how they can get involved
and how tourism affects their
businesses,’ said Judi Ainsworth,
the chairman of North Shore
Tourism, a joint committee of the
North and West Vancouver
chambers of commerce formed a
year ago to promote local tourism.

At the Jan. 26 breakfast event,
displays and handout material will
explain how the North Shore can
more effectively tap into the grow-
ing tourism industry, the number
one employer in British Columbia.

“We want people to realize that
if they don’t get involved we won't
get a piece of the pie,’ said
Ainsworth, noting that tourism is
expected to become the number
one industry throughout the world
by the year 2000.

With a slogan of So Much
More... Vancouver's North Shore,
the committce in 1987 produced a
North Shore-wide tourist map and
other promotional items.

Admission to the Destination
North Shore event is $5, and a
