Horse riders get grant

THE BOWEN Island Horse Owners and Riders
Association has been granted $4,973 to improve and
expand the public riding facilities and trails at Crippen
Regional Park, the provincial government announced

Lions roar past Burnaby

WEEKEND NORTH West Vancouver Ringette action recently saw
the Petite “A” Lions blank the Burnaby Petite ‘'A*’ team 11-0.

Kerri Jesson received her first shutout in the decisive win, and goals
by Erin Dempsey, Carrie McKellar and Lisa Demuelle helped lead the
Lions to the overwhelming victory.

A scoring break by Ann Bryant, who ied the way with four goals
and three assists, helped the Deb Destroyers defeat the Belle ‘‘B’’
Blades 11-3 in other ringette action recently.

The Petite Tigers lost their game 12-4 to the North Shore Winter
Club. Despite the score, goalie Katie Emmons put on a strong display.
