Vancouver won the toss and batted first. The Juniors’ early batsmen scored freely, ‘more success than P. Heaver (43) and J. Kassam (23). The majority of the Van- couver batsmien also reached double figures. With, some astute running between: the Juniors total wickets the reached 158 runs. none with Eight wickets were shared by bowlers Wise, Siatia, Butler and Milbourn § as wicketkeeper Paul Levy claimed four victims. Basil Statia and Rod Wise gave West Van's innings a good start before Statia was out for 19 runs. Wise was joined by Paul the score along rapidly until first Levy (26 runs) and then Wise (35 runs) were out. The game developed into a tense struggle with West Van set to score 90 runs off 18 overs. + Wickets fell regularly as the batsmen chased the runs. Doug Pearson (15), Richard Milbourn (21 not out) helped push West Van's score along. ; The last over was reached with West Van's last pair at the wicket and 10,nifis need- ed for victggy.’ Three runs were scored off the first four balls.
