1 Slow mail stops

LESS THAN efficient ser-
vice by the post office has
forced North Vancouver
District Council to postpone
a public hearing.

Council had scheduled a
public hearing May {3 on
the question of declaring
numerous sites in the district
development permit areas.
But two Capilano residents
complained they did not
receive enough notice of the
hearing.

Ray Marinakas, of Can-
yon Gardens Restaurant,
said the notice from the
district dated May 1 was
mailed May 3 and not
received until May 9. C.C.
Sun, Capilano Heights
Chinese Restaurant,made
the same complaint.

Council agreed that this
was not enough notice and
adjourned the public hearing
to June 10 but not before
council members asked for a
letter to be sent to the post
office complaining of slow
service,
